This is the month of me

Did you know that May is better speech, language and hearing month?

Me neither until I saw it on the U Dub Dub homepage.

It is the month of me!

Why? The better language part. Yeah. I think there are some people who could really go for a crash course in language skills. Not Spanish, French or Cantonese. Nah. English. I tell ya. When I hear some people speak, my skin just crawls. To butcher the language of Shakespeare is a shame.

What gets to me the most is when people don't use the plural form. For example, "These is for Friday." Yikes! My ears are bleeding! I don't get picky of who vs whom and people who say "Me and my friends" instead of "My friends and I" Those things are ok because they don't make my head hurt.

I don't like when be say Da for The. I don't like the word ain't. It has it's place I'll give you that but for the most part, nuh. Don't use it! Makes everyone sound like redneck hill people. "this ain't my gun!" as compared to "This isn't my gun!" Why gun? I don't know.

It is one thing if a person negates proper grammar and spelling for artistic license. I type cuz because I want to. Say shiz instead of shit cause I find shiz less harsh sounding.

What is up with people saying you's guys?! I...I...ow.

I don't know what makes me like this. It isn't like I come from a family of English teachers. I think some people sound ridiculous when they speak in perfect English. I am just against the blatantly obvious misuse.
