Personal Collection

While attempting to clean my room and organize my bookshelf I found myself thinking that I sort of want to live in a foreign country. That way when I get angry I can start to talk and swear to myself in English and everyone will be like "Oh man. She is pissed!" Sure that's sort of a weird thing but it isn't like I can swear in another language here. It would be weird if I started to cuss in Norwegian considering the most Norwegian I know is oofta.

I think I should have stretched before conquering my bookshelf. It is positioned in such a place where I have to almost be a master of yoga in order to reach half of it. And people wonder why I get pissy over my room situation. Attempting to fit most of my worldly possessions in an 11x8 room does not work well. Especially when I honest to blog have about 10 square feet of carpet space to walk around on. On the other hand if I ever find myself living in a studio apartment, I think I'll be able to manage just swimmingly.

I have a lot of shit! I have a lot of shit that I really cannot and will not put in storage. I've got books! I've got DVDs! I've got electronics, collectibles and perhaps the most space consuming items outside of the furniture clothes! If this other bed was not in here I would be a happy girl.

Speaking of books, sad to hear JD Salinger has died. I loved "Catcher in the Rye." Amazing book. You know it's funny. I hate books that I consider sellouts-you know your Nicholas Sparks, Nora Roberts, Mitch Albom types. (Though I did get a Albom book for Christmas. I think I got it because my parents worry about my faith...) Yet I have no problem with classical sellouts so to speak. Hemingway, Salinger and any book in the Barns & Noble Classics Collection. What can I say, I guess I have more respect for good literature then fill in the blank novels.

I need to make a list of the books I should get. I have a strange collection if if I do say so myself. Harry Potter (FINE! Sellout! Fine!), political books, baseball books, your so called classics and/or literary masterpieces, trivia books and of course the Associated Press Stylebooks. Yeah I got three of those. It is quite unnecessary to have that many but I do. See I always forgot mine at home and then I'd need one in school so I'd have to go and buy a new one. Now it has sort of turned into a collection. I've got 2006-08. I wonder if I can get '09 on discount or something. Or maybe the AP is a little behind in publishing it? Oh I don't know. I do love them in a quirky way. While organizing the bookshelf I realized I was missing '06. And you can bet your ass I searched high and low to find that little beast because I did not keep forgetting them and then spending $15 to buy them only to lose them again! ...right. And yeah. I was just googing the '09 and '10 edition..

Ok then!

Ciao!
