Ha, boom baby!

What does OxyClean and OrangeClean have in common?

They were both made by the maker of KABOOM!

The reason for my oh so witty riddle? An explosion on campus today. Yeah. No lie. No one got seriously hurt, only one person had minor injuries. A boiler exploded in the power plant. It happened on the other side of campus, by Esker dinning hall which is on the north north-east side. I live off of campus on the West Side and I heard it. Didn't know what it was, didn't think much of it at all until my roomie called saying she saw on the news there was an explosion on campus. Want to hear my not so eye witness account? OK!

I was sitting at the counter, it was around noon, cooking me some lunch. My couscous was cooking, my chicken nuking and I was just sitting there minding my own biz-nas when I heard a noise. It sounded like something hitting a dumpster, you know that dull sort of sound. Didn't think anything about it because there is a dumpster in the parking lot and it is hella windy today. Few minutes later I hear cop cars. Didn't think anything of it they go by all the time. Then my roomie calls, tells me. Then it all falls into place. The noise, then the cops. It must've been one hell of a blast for me to hear it. It wasn't like it was deafening or anything but it was loud enough to get my attention. You know you hear things all the time day in day out and don't think about it like cars, garbage trucks, shit like that. White noise pretty much. This got my attention. Just sort of looked up and thought, wonder what that was, then went back to my stuff. Then heard the cops, looked up again and thought, hmm wonder what's going on, then went back to my stuff.

A fairly exciting day. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt of course. I kind of wanted to go walk over there and see but figured I probably shouldn't.

http://www.royalpurplenews.com/ is the campus newspaper. It has pictures on it but the site is ridiculously slow. I'm betting madison.com or jsonline will have something soon enough.

Ok. I'm outtie like a belly button.
